Bamboo & The brief introduction of bamboo 

In south china, bamboo can be seen everywhere. Maybe some feel it is common, for they can see it very often. But, I think it is great, which brings great help to people. Near a river, we can see it there. It has the function of solidifying the dam to protect people and their possession by holding the earth tightly, which is just like a guard. When spring comes, people will make bamboo shoots.

The farmers can get money from them, and they can be treated as food for themselves. What’s more, the bamboos which are big enough can be used to build plastic sheeting of vegetables, while the small ones can be sold to make paper. And before the Dragon Boat Day, women will take bamboo leaves, and make them dry to use in next year for wrapping sticky rice. Besides, people make all kinds of furniture out of bamboos. For example, there are bamboo beds, bamboo mats, bamboo chairs, bamboo desks, and bamboo ladders.

All the things above have the same quality. That is they are light. But another reason for people to choose bamboo beds is that when you sleep in bamboo bed in summer, you will feel especially cool. And bamboo hat is a traditional and useful thing. That is to say, bamboo can be good used by people from all its parts. So one can not deny that bamboo is useful to people.

In my opinion, it not only can be used by people, but also can be a good scene of the nature for people to appreciate. Every time when I walk in the road and see the bamboo and its green leaves, I will have a kind of special feeling. Maybe its green nature has given me the beautiful side of life. When the micro wind blows, the leaves and the end of the bamboo will dance with it. How beautiful the picture is. 

Bamboo is a very beautiful plant. It is a perennial evergreen plant . Generally,its shoots come out in spring,summer,or winter,and the time will be different according to different years.It is a strong plant ,so sometimes is called “a man of noble character“。Bamboo only bloom once all its life,and the flower is white ， tiny,and beautiful.Bamboo can be made into utensil,such as,bamboo tube,bamboo basket，and also can be made into life appliance,such as bamboo mat ,bamboo mahjong.Besides, it can be used as food and medicine for human.Its application is very extensive.

Bamboo,which is well-known ,often appears in poem or prose as a subject which is admired.The reasons are various.First, bamboo’s appearance is elegant.Its branch is tall and straight;its leaves are slim and graceful.seen from far away,bamboo forest is always green,and lofty,especially when the rain or frost hit it---too much beauty.Second,bamboo’s meaning is profound.As known to all,bamboo’s life-force is so strong,what’s more,its appearance is upright,which contribute to its unyielding image.

So poet and literate  people like to use bamboo to express their integrity and label their strong.Third,bamboo is popular among Chinese people.It ranks with plum,orchard,chrysanthemum as four- noble- men,and ranks with plum ,pine as three- good -friends.Such a wonderful,and famous plant,who would not like to admire and describe it?

The popularity of bamboo can be known by the depth of its penetration to the folk culture.Among the people,bamboo culture is obviosly extensive.For example,many children’s toys are weaved by bamboo，and there is a stage tool made by bamboo which is used in a folk dance named “jump bamboo horse”.Besides,people like to use bamboo to name things.For example,ther is a kind of wine,whose name is “green as bamboo“。How a elegant name!

Bamboo,as a famous plant among our people,which has a extensive use ,lofty temperament,elegent appearance,and strong quality,is exactly admirable.
